Proverbs 16:3 (NLT) Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.
The Lord led me to this verse this morning and I am encouraged that through this verse, there is actually a sure-fire way to make our plans succeed. And that is to first and foremost, commit our actions to the Lord.
Often, we start with a plan. And then we arrange our actions in order to fulfill the goals. However, the verse reminds us that what we need to do instead is to examine each action we make and check whether they are obeying and honoring God. Only by doing so will our plans succeed. For indeed with obedience comes blessings.
I pray for the success of all my plans. But as what James Clear said, "Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress."
Am I making progress towards being more Christ-like? Am I prioritizing the priorities? Am I setting up systems to ensure we are obeying and listening to God? Am I making decisions based on what God wants and not what I want?
These are the questions I pray I dwell on in the days ahead. Let's lift our plans to God as we focus on committing our actions today to Him!
